Why it’s important to start today (like, literally, TODAY)

As humans, it’s so easy for us to wait until the next milestone to get started towards a goal we want to achieve.

Join a gym? I’ll do that once the kids go back to school in September.

Eat healthy? I’ll make that a New Year’s Resolution and start on January 1st.

But these future dates we set for ourselves to get started? They’re totally arbitrary. There’s no real difference between starting today and starting on the 1st of the year… except that the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll start making progress; and the sooner you’ll be able to achieve those goal(s).

As I sit here and write this, it’s September 28th. Which means it’s almost October. And all around me I hear people talking about how the year’s basically already over. But you know what? We’ve got three months left in this year. Three whole months still lie between us and January 1st.

Which means that if you started working - actively - towards your goal TODAY, by January 1st you’d be an entire three months ahead of the version of you that waits until the New Year.

Don’t wait for the “perfect” time to start, because let’s face it - there will never be one. Our lives are busy, and hectic, and we feel like we’re being pulled in a hundred different directions… and we’ll always find a reason to put off starting the thing. Instead, start today; and get someone in your corner (*cough* a coach! *cough*) who can help you navigate through the imperfect times.

If you’re ready to start today - like literally, today - taking action, and if you’re committed to figuring out how your eating habits can help you achieve the goals and see the progress you want to see - well, that’s what we’re here for. :)
