Tips for proper hydration
Along with eating real, whole foods (like we always preach!), hydration plays a very important role in maintaining our physical well-being. When we are properly hydrated, we feel more energized, improve our immune system, and feel fuller throughout the day. Hydration can play a role in reducing headaches and cramps and improving exercise performance, digestion, metabolism... the list goes on.
Looking for tips on how to maintain good hydration? Here are just a few of our favorites:
Set a glass of water out at night to drink when you wake up in the morning. This can help you establish the healthy habit of drinking water right at the beginning of your day. Additionally, this can jumpstart your morning energy and fight off fatigue!
Make a hydration schedule on your water bottle. Want an easy way to keep track of your hydration? Grab a sharpie, and start adding time marks to your water bottle. These can help you stay consistent in your hydration throughout the day. For example, if you mark a big water bottle with time marks at two-hour intervals from when you wake up until a couple hours before your bedtime, this helps to encourage consistent hydration throughout the day.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are mostly composed of water. Eating a healthy portion of fruits and vegetables every day helps to maintain hydration - alongside all their other nutritional benefits!
